Week Notes 2021/6
Sun Feb 14, 2021
Introduction
Notes for the week of 8th through 14th of February 2021.
Not a great week for feeling productive and thoughtful.
The Notes
- Week six of the half marathon program.
- Tuesday was a 2 mile recovery run in the snow along King Street.
- Thursday was 10km with 6km at half marathon pace.
- It didn’t really go to place and I ended up completely thrashing myself
- Ran my second fastest 10km time, which included a short walk to inhale a gel at the midway point
- Sunday was meant to be a 10km long run, but because the winds were high and unpredictable precipitation I went for a 14km walk to Torry Battery on the other side of the harbour. Returning past the harbour mouth I watched a supply ship pitching and yawing in the rough sea.
- For most of the week my coffee was the coffee from Foodstory, which improved over the week.
- The coffee from Outpost arrived on Wednesday and I’ve brewed a few cups with one of the samples. Delicious.
- On Monday, I cooked roast vegetables and pasta.
- On Monday, we watched Star Trek: Deep Space 9 S6E12 “Who Mourns for Morn?".
- On Thursday, once I again after a run, I cooked a traditional post-run meal of rice, curry sauce, and a fried vegan chicken burger.
- I might order take away next week because there were issues with energy levels the next day.
- On Saturday night, for Valentine’s day, we had a four course meal from Roots in Aberdeen delivered to us ready to heat up.
- And because the main dish was a lasagna we shared a bottle of Chanti.
- I finished reading The Memory Police by Yōko Ogawa.
- I started reading City of the Iron Fish by Simon Ings.
- On Saturday night we watched À bout de souffle, a film directed by Jean-Luc Godard.
- I do not know how many times I have seen this film, but it is always special.
- I have started playing more Hades instead of Ghost of Tsushima because I can play in shorter bursts.
- This wasn’t my favorite week at work. One of small projects I have assigned is spiraling in complexity and risk.
- I spent more of the week thinking about J.G. Ballard’s condensed novels than writing.
